The
Beauty of Lake Tahoe
If you spend
a summer day on the lake, it will be an experience
you will never forget. The beauty of Lake Tahoe
is staggering with vistas beyond the imagination.
Every conceivable water sport is available including
fishing charters.
For
those who like to camp and backpack the area
has many great camping and picnicking areas,
nestled in the mountains and close to the lake
with a boat camping area in beautiful Emerald
Bay.
If you like
to hike and bike there are miles and miles of
biking and hiking trails and approximately 200,000
acres of designated wilderness areas dotted with
more pristine alpine lakes. These wilderness
areas provide breathtaking vistas and quiet solitude.
For
skiers, the Lake Tahoe area offers the
largest concentration of ski areas in
North America. There are 15 ski resorts
in the Lake Tahoe area, all within an
hour of each other. Six of these areas
(Alpine Meadows, Heavenly Valley, Kirkwood,
Northstar-At-Tahoe, Sierra-At-Tahoe and
Squaw Valley) have been top rated by
the nations leading ski magazines. In
addition, there are 12 Cross Country
Ski areas near Lake Tahoe, including
Royal Gorge, which was rated number one
by Snow Country Magazine. As you can
well imagine, the skiing, snowboarding
and cross-counrty skiing is fantastic
at Lake Tahoe. You can even explore Tahoe's
back country from a snowmobile.
We
have 14 Lake Tahoe area golf courses
(at last count) including the Tahoe and
Carson Valley areas. These include Edgewood

There is a course for everyone at every
skill level, so don't forget to bring
your clubs.
The Lake
Tahoe area summer arts and culture calendar is
crowded with events including fine arts displays
at the Historic Tallac Site, summer music festivals,
our own Shakespeare Festival at Sand Harbor,
and our own Tahoe Renaissance Faire. The 4th
of July Celebration on the lake, is spectacular
with fireworks over the Lake. In addition, many
of today's top performers are on stage at the
Lake Tahoe Casinos year round. We have many excellent
restaurants for exclusive dining experiences
as well as casual family fare. We even have our
own Wine Country in the El Dorado foothills,
with over 17 wineries.
